Tips & Tricks for First-Timers at Bromo:
Dress in Layers: Bromo can be freezing early in the morning, especially during sunrise. Dress in layers, including a warm jacket, gloves, and a scarf to keep comfortable while waiting for the sunrise.
Arrive Early: Sunrise is the most popular time to visit, so get to the viewpoint at least 30 minutes before dawn to secure a good spot and fully enjoy the breathtaking view.
Bring a Good Camera: Bromo’s landscapes are absolutely photogenic. Be sure your camera or smartphone is fully charged, and bring a spare battery or power bank to capture every moment of this iconic adventure.
Prepare for Altitude: The altitude can be high and may cause slight discomfort. Drink plenty of water, walk slowly, and take deep breaths to avoid altitude sickness.
Jeep Ride is a Must: If you want to explore the Sea of Sand and get to the viewpoint in comfort, rent a jeep with a local driver. The roads can be rough, so the jeep makes the ride smoother and more convenient.
Stay Safe: The terrain around Bromo can be steep and rocky, so wear comfortable shoes for hiking. Be cautious around the crater area, as the fumes can be overwhelming, and there’s a lot of sulfur in the air.

Penanjakan 2: If you want a quieter and less crowded sunrise experience, Penanjakan 2 offers a great alternative. It’s slightly further from the main viewpoint but provides a unique angle and incredible views of the entire caldera.
